We are now a dealer for MRD exhaust systems and recently installed one of their Z-Pro full exhausts on our DRZ400SM Project Bike. This is the best exhaust on the market if you’re looking to maximize the performance of your DRZ. They also happen to look great on the bike thanks to their hand-made attention to detail.

MRD Z-Pro pipes (formerly known as the SSW-MRD) are hand built from 18 gauge 304 stainless steel and 6061 aluminum, and tig welded by hand by owner Dave Harryman. These are not over priced, stamped out, mass produced pipes, they have a high quality hand fabricated look. MRD builds their pipes from stainless steel because it is the best material for exhaust systems, SS holds more heat in for better exhaust velocity, SS does not dent as easily as TI and does not require loose spring mounting to keep it from breaking. Their pipes have superior dimensions and flow better than stock – resulting in noticeable power gains. Endcaps are bolted for easy removal when changing inserts or repacking.

To simplify ordering, we’ve put together an MRD Z-Pro performance exhaust package where you can customize the system to fit your needs. On our project bike, we’re running the MRD full exhaust with quiet insert and heat shield clamps. We’ve also done the JD Jetting Jet Kit as part of the package, and a K&N Air Filter with the 3×3 airbox mod. Finally we finished off the system with a Z-Carbon Header Heat Shield.
