A local customer of ours just finished up a review of the new DoubleTake Adventure mirrors he put on his 2013 BMW G650GS Sertao…
I decided to try out the new Double Take Adventure Mirrors that have recently become available and I figured what better way to put them to the test than to try them out on a quick trip to ride part of the Trans-West Virginia Trail. Over the course of two days I covered 633 miles in conditions ranging from interstate travel to single track trails covering portions of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The bike I chose for this trip was a single cylinder 2013 BMW G650GS Sertao. The Double Take Mirrors performed flawlessly as their design offers infinite adjustability, optical clarity, and apparently are fairly indestructible. Vibrations from the engine transmitted through the handle bars are no more noticeable than with the OEM mirrors and mounting was simple as the OEM mounting points are utilized for Ram ball attachment. Simply remove the stock mirrors, insert the supplied Ram ball and attach the mirrors. These are the ultimate adventure mirrors that are as good on-road as off. They can easily be folded out of the way or removed when the going gets tough. Basically the last mirrors you would every need to buy for your dual sport or adventure motorcycle.
All in all I would say one of the better items I have tried out in terms of functionality. I have been using the Double Take Enduro Mirrors on my dirt bikes with much success thanks to their durability but the Adventure Mirror is a winner for the street, back roads and any other trouble you want to get into with your dual sport motorcycle.
