Sport bikes are not the best for carrying stuff on, so my very first purchase (after all my riding gear) was this Cortech Sport Tailbag. It works perfectly with the Ninja 250R. The bag sits right on top of the passenger seat and has bungey straps which hook neatly on to the hooks just under the rear fender.

I've put about 600 miles on the bike with this tailbag without any issues. I can easily carry a couple extra tools, tire gauge, extra pair of shoes, wallet, cell phone and a few other things. It stays put too. Highly recommended.
